Change of season

Spring is here! In Miami we don't really get to experience the changes in seasons, but the pretty flowers blooming everywhere are a wonderful sign of Spring's arrival. I'm beyond excited for what's to come in the next few months. As much as I love for the weather to get cooler I'm a huge fan of Spring and Summer. Mostly because we get to do so many fun things, like going to the beach more often.

But the change of season I'm experiencing is not only from Winter to Spring. I'm also currently going through a change of season in my life, and I'm beyond excited to share the news here. I've been away from blogging for over a month, and I have quite a few excuses. The computer nauseated me, I was and still am really tired all the time, I wasn't feeling inspired or motivated at all, no creativity whatsoever, because...

Yes, I'm pregnant!

I'm beyond excited... I'm already 14 weeks. My husband and I feel so blessed to be able to experience this, and even though the beginning hasn't been easy I really can't complain. It's a huge honor and privilege to have a human being growing inside of me.

Here's a picture of us from Easter Sunday. My belly is growing ridiculously fast. It's kind of scary, but the good thing is I don't have to suck it in at all for the next six months. Hurray for changes!

Red Valentino AW 2013

I haven't been around lately, mostly because I have been feeling pretty sick, but I think I can start posting more regularly again now. One thing I've been doing though, is following the new collections coming out in New York, and now London, for the Autumn/Winter 2013 season.. I'm really looking forward to the Milan and Paris collections. The Paris ones are always my favorite. One collection I"m always, always looking forward to is Red Valentino, and this time they didn't disappoint. So utterly dreamy. These are my favorite looks. I hope you enjoy them.

Hemingway's house

Last night I watched the movie "Life of Pi". It's probably one of the best movies I've watched in a long time. The story is captivating, and every other aspect of the film, from the acting to the cinematography, is just perfect. I don't consider myself a film expert or anything of the sort, but it truly was awesome. I've never read the very popular book, but now I really want to.

This got me thinking about the book "The old man and the sea" by Ernest Hemingway, and how it could definitely be turned into a movie as well. Even though the book is a classic I found it a bit of a tedious read when I read it many years ago, but I think it would make a great movie. I'm a bit fascinated with Ernest Hemingway, and I've been to two of the houses where he lived, in Cuba and Key West. I went to the one in Cuba when I was a little girl, so I barely remember, but I've visited the one in Key West twice in the last five years. I decided to share a few pictures I took while I was there a bit over a year ago.

There is so much history in that house. Like how his wife at the time replaced all the ceiling fans with chandeliers. There's even a chandelier in the bathroom! Also the urinal fountain Hemingway brought over from Sloppy Joe's, and his wife turned into a garden fountain. And of course the six-toed cats everywhere, and I mean... e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. I think they make the house look less like a museum and more like an actual house where people still live. The man was totally crazy, but I think that's what made him such a great writer.

My girls

I want to start sharing with you the style of some of the sweetest and brightest young ladies I know. They are like daughters to me because I'm their youth leader, but beyond that they are my friends, and pretty much like sisters to me. They all have a great sense of style and are so very beautiful. Once in a while (hopefully often) I will take the spotlight away from me on the this blog, and feature them. Today I introduce to you to the first three ladies: Daniela, Elizabeth, and Emily. I hope you enjoy the pictures and get inspired by the great outfits.
